Ilkley residents are being urged to take note of alternative bin collection dates over the festive period so that they don’t miss them.
This year’s changes will affect those who normally have their waste collected on Wednesdays or Thursdays due to the days of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Those whose ‘bin day’ falls on Wednesday, 25 December (Christmas Day) will have their waste collected on Monday 23 December.
If your collection would normally be a Thursday, your 26 December (Boxing Day) collection will move to Saturday 28 December.
The Wednesday 1 January (New Year’s Day) collection will be moved to Saturday 4 January.
Cllr Sarah Ferriby, Portfolio Holder for Healthy People and Places, said:
“We all know that everyone gets fuller bins over the festive period so we don’t want anyone missing their bin collections. Our crews will also be working hard to stay on top of collections by moving their shifts to one Monday (23 December) and two Saturdays (28 December and 4 January). So please make a note of these alternative dates to ensure you put your bins out on the correct days.”
