As the Ilkley Grammar School online Auction of Promises enters its final week, organisers are encouraging everyone to 'support your local secondary schools'
Alongside the online auction with 168 different items, tickets are available for two fundraising events on Thursday 4 June - an Afternoon Tea, between 1pm–3pm and open to the wider community, and a Summer Soirée 6.30pm–11pm. Both events are being held in the Rathbones Suite at Ilkley Lawn Tennis & Squash Club and will feature live entertainment.
The online auction of items and services have been generously donated by businesses from Ilkley and the wider area, the auction is on track to raise significant funds to support Ilkley Grammar's enhanced provision.
From extra-curricular sport to a range of wellbeing activities... from trips and drama, to debating and music, the enrichment offer at IGS is ‘amazing’. However, the school says it is at risk in the current climate.
A spokesperson said:
"There is already fantastic support from the community, but IGS needs you to support this vital part of our school's offer by bidding in the auction, several items have a starting price of between £1 and £5,
"Every bid, donation and ticket purchased will help safeguard opportunities for current and future students while bringing our community together."
Anyone can register to bid and buy tickets for the events via : www.galabid.com/igs-auction - the online auction will close on the evening of 4 June.
