An Ilkley has submitted a retrospective planning application to retain its tap house.
Bini Brew Co converted a commercial unit at Drill Hall Business Park into a bar late last year.
Earlier this year, they submitted an application to Bradford Council to confirm that the venue was operating lawfully under a Class E planning use.
This use includes commercial and business use – but also includes business that sell food, such as cafes.
This Summer, planners at the Council concluded that there appeared to be no food kitchen at the tap house, and any food served there was likely to be from a street food van.
Planners added: “This being the case, officers contend that the most likely current use of the unit is of a Sui Generis use; as a drinking establishment. This would appear to be an un-authorised use. Such a use would require planning permission.”
A retrospective planning application to convert the unit into a drinking establishment has now been submitted to Bradford Council by the Leeds based brewery.
A decision on the application is expected by the end of the year.
