Following the closure of all traditional high street banks, a new ‘Banking Hub’ was approved for Ilkley in March 2025 and Cash Access UK who will deliver the hub is holding drop-in event next Wednesday at the Clarke Foley Community Hub.
A ‘Banking Hub’ is a shared banking space, similar to a traditional bank branch, but available to everyone and offering cash and in person banking services. One opened in Otley in 2024, which was the first in West Yorkshire.
One Otley resident said:
“It’s great having one in Otley, but it would be even better if it had an ATM so try to ensure you get one in Ilkley if possible.”
A Cash Access UK spokesperson said:
“We're excited to share that a new banking hub will be opening in Ilkley next year, ensuring residents and businesses have renewed access to cash and vital in-person banking services. To help the community learn more, we're hosting a drop-in event on 21 May at Clarke Foley Community Hub, where representatives will be available to answer questions and discuss the new hub.
“As we celebrate the milestone of opening our 150th banking hub last month, we remain committed to expanding access to banking services wherever they're needed. We look forward to welcoming the Ilkley community to their new banking hub.”
Cash Access UK will be at the Clarke Foley Community Hub between 10am and 1pm on Wednesday 21st May, everyone is welcome to call in and chat to the team.
