Nominations for Ilkley Town Council’s 2026 Citizen Awards Scheme are now open.
The Citizen Awards Scheme, which was launched earlier this year to great success, honours the extraordinary individuals who make a real difference in our community.
Anyone can nominate an Ilkley resident who they believe deserves recognition for their positive contributions to the community. Whether they’ve volunteered at local charities, organised events, helped a neighbour in need by bringing in the bins, or simply anyone who has gone the extra mile to make Ilkley a better place, this is the perfect opportunity to show your appreciation and say thank you.
Ilkley Town Mayor Councillor Jane Gibson said:
"This scheme is all about celebrating what makes Ilkley so special.
"We want people to nominate the unsung heroes of our community, shining a spotlight on those people who quietly improve and enrich the lives of those around them."
Nominations for the Citizen Awards Scheme, which has been established in association with Community Action Bradford & District and Ilkley Community Network, will close on Saturday 31st January 2026.
There are 4 separate categories: Voluntary Organisation Volunteer of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year, Environmental Champion and Outstanding Citizen Award.
Ilkley Town Council will review all nominations and select the winners, who will receive a special award at the Annual Town Meeting, which takes place on Wednesday 18th March 2026.
