Bradford Libraries have a handful of free spaces available for its 'Sing Your Song' workshops which start Thursday in Ilkley with Boff Whalley, formerly with group Chumbawamba, best known for their 90s hit 'Tubthumping'.
Part of National Storytelling Week, which Soundtrack Your Story is the theme this year, there’s going to be a gathering of voices coming together to write, rehearse and perform a specially-written song to celebrate that storytelling.
Boff, together with Jane Morland, will run two evening workshops at Ilkley Library, starting tomorrow [Thursday 29 January], where participants will pull together ideas for a song that can sing their story. Boff will take these ideas and compose a choral song that will be rehearsed and performed for an audience on Sunday 8 February at Ilkley library.
A spokesperson said:
"Come along to the first workshop session and contribute your ideas, and together we can create – and sing – something original and special."
When first released, spaces filled straight away, with just 24 hours to go, a handful of free spots have been made available.
Anyone wishing to join the choir, is ask to book all 3 session; 29 January, 5 & 8 February; at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/bradfordlibraries/
