Council consults on plans including £35 residents permit

Bradford Council has opened a consultation on its planned introduction of charging for residents and visitor permits, and an increase in the cost for workers permits in Ilkley.

As part of the council’s budget for 2024-25, which included the closure of Ilkley’s household waste recycling centre and a review of library opening hours, it proposes to increase its income by charging for parking permits within the residential permit area in Ilkley.

The proposed cost is £35 per annum for both resident and visitor permits, with a second or subsequent visitor permit (if permitted) costing £40.

The proposals include £35 per annum for a professional health or social carer and £10 per week for a landlord/contractor working in a residential permit area.

Ilkley Workers Contracts and Business Permits will be charged at £250 a year, with a refund of one-twelfth of the annual amount paid for each complete unused month, except where the refund would be less than £15. These permits can paid by instalments throughout the year.
