Bradford Council has warned Storm Éowyn is on its way and is expected to bring very strong winds to the Bradford district tomorrow.
The Met Office has issued both YELLOW and AMBER weather warnings for wind for tomorrow Friday (24 January). The AMBER warning is in place from 6am to 9pm tomorrow.
An AMBER warning means there is an increased risk of severe weather impacts - this could include travel delays, road and rail closures, power cuts and potential risk to life and property.
A spokesperson for Bradford Council said:
"Please do what you can to secure garden furniture, trampolines, bins, sheds, and fences etc. Please take care if you are out and about.
"Fallen or dangerous trees can be reported to Bradford Council via 01274 431000 or West Yorkshire Police for trees on highways.
"Our bin crews may place bins on their sides once emptied, to try and prevent them from being blown around. If you can, please bring your bin in as soon as you can after it's been emptied."
In a power cut please contact Northern Powergrid or phone 105. Information about what to do in a power cut can be found on the Northern Powergrid website. Information about things you can do to prepare for a power cut can be found on the Government website.
Latest information about the weather warnings and tips for staying safe during windy weather can be found on the Met Office website.
