Residents have 7 days to give their feedback on the council’s proposals to reduce the opening hours at Ilkley's library.
It is part of savings in Bradford Council’s budget proposals for 2024/5 and is to achieve savings of £175,000 in 2025/6 financial year.
The council says:
“The proposals for 9 Council libraries are based on usage patterns for each library in the previous year and aim to provide consistency whilst responding to the specific needs and circumstances of each community.
“Two options are given for each library, with each option resulting in an average reduction of 6 hours per week per library, whilst still retaining a choice of options for customers across the week, some evenings and at the weekend.
“In most cases the options are either to close for one hour at lunchtime each day, or a combination of one half-day closure and closing earlier on Saturday.”
