Cllr Andrew Loy raised the Ukrainian flag today [Friday 7 March] at the top of Brook Street on behalf of Ilkley Town Council as a sign of solidarity and support to the 70+ Ukrainians who are currently living in the Ilkley area.
In addition to flags outside All Saints Church and in Ilkley Riverside Park, the community at Christchurch also displayed a flag today.

Caroline Hyde, Chair of Ilkley and Surrounds Support for Ukraine, said:
"Thanks again from all of the Ukrainian communities who are very grateful to everyone who has made them so welcome at such a difficult time, and in particular the many organisations including All Saints Church, Christchurch, Ilkley Town Council, Ilkley Pétanque, Ilkley Park and Ilkley and Wharfedale Rotary groups who have and continue to be such good friends and support.
"Having come to here as part of the 'Homes for Ukraine’ scheme', they are now settled in jobs, schools and working and volunteering in our community."
