On Yorkshire Day, the Clarke Foley Community Hub reveal a stunning new mural at the heart of its café, celebrating the people, places, and stories that make Ilkley so special.
The mural was created by local artist John Giles and funded by Keighley Community Chest as part of Bradford City of Culture 2025. This vibrant piece brings together iconic Ilkley landmarks, cherished community figures, and the diverse activities that make Clarke Foley such a welcoming space for all.
Cllr Caroline Firth, Chair of the Keighley and Ilkley Area Committee, officially unveil the mural in the afternoon on 1st August 2025.

A spokesperson for Clarke Foley said:
“A heartfelt thank you to John Giles, for your creativity and thoughtful tribute to our town, and Cllr Caroline Firth and the Keighley Community Chest for your support
“The mural is in memory of Mr James Clarke, Norah Elliot, and Allan Booth, whose legacies live on in the very walls of our Hub.
“In honour of Allan, our new enclosed seating area will now be known as “Allan’s Booth”, a space to remember his warmth, generosity, and unwavering dedication to Clarke Foley.
“Come in, grab a cuppa, and take a look – the mural is waiting to be discovered.”
