Bradford Council has made a planning application seeking permission to convert existing office accommodation on the first floor of Dalesway House into residential apartments.
Dalesway House is connected to The Moors Shopping Centre in the heart of Ilkley, and the offices on the first floor are above business premises including Boots Optician and Fifth Avenue, the women's clothing store.
The applications asks for 'Permission in Principle' to provide between six and nine apartments.
A 'Permission in Principle' establishes whether the site is suitable in principle for the proposed use, with the technical details considered at a later stage.
Dalesway House and the connected Moors Shopping Centre are both owned by Bradford Council, which it had placed for sale for £3.95 million in March 2025 after paying £6.25 million to buy it in 2019. At the same time the council put both Ilkley Abattoir on Little Lane and the former household waste recycling site on Golden Butts Road on the market.
The application is available to view online at the Bradford Council planning portal Ref: 26/01668/PIP, the consultation runs until 1st July.
