Ilkley-based specialist Internet Service Provider Talk Straight took on the Inflatable 5k at Harewood House on Saturday June 29, to raise money for Leeds charity Zarach.
Talk Straight’s Sallie Bewell, John Standhaven, Victor Josi and Gabby Keating tackled the challenging course. Making it a true family affair, John’s children, Ella and James, along with Sallie’s teenage son, Oscar, also joined the team.
The weather was perfect for the event, which featured a series of challenging inflatable obstacles. Despite the physical demands, the team demonstrated exceptional team work, offering words of encouragement and helping each other through the course. The occasional push, pull, or shove ensured that everyone completed the race with a smile.
Sallie Bewell, People Manager. said:
"We had an amazing time navigating the various obstacles. But beyond the fun and the challenge, our goal was to raise awareness and funds for Zarach, an organisation doing crucial work to support children and families in our community."
Zarach's mission is to provide immediate relief from bed poverty, which can have lasting benefits for families. A bed provided to a child at the start of their schooling journey can support them through their entire primary education, significantly enhancing their ability to engage in school and promoting their physical, emotional, and learning development.
John Standhaven, Sales Manager added:
"We believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting initiatives that have a direct, positive impact on children's lives.
"Zarach's work lifts a significant financial burden from families, and we are proud to contribute to their efforts."
