Ilkley broadband provider wins 2025 ISPA Award for Network & Data Security

Thursday, 20 November 2025 at 07:05

Talk Straight/Schools Broadband were presented with this award

Talk Straight has won the 2025 ISPA Award for Best Customer Network and Data Security, marking a record sixth security-category win and the organisation’s ninth ISPA accolade since 2014.

The award was presented at the Internet Services Providers’ Association UK’s 30th anniversary ceremony, recognising the providers driving innovation, resilience and security across the UK’s digital landscape.

The Ilkley based company secured the win for its enterprise-grade safeguarding and cyber-security services, Schools Broadband, which now protect over 1.5 million students and staff, 3,500+ schools, and 300 Multi Academy Trusts nationwide. Its cloud-based platform delivers advanced filtering, monitoring, and DDoS protection as standard.

With cyber-attacks on UK schools continuing to rise and DfE digital standards placing greater emphasis on safeguarding and security, Schools Broadband’s approach ensures robust threat protection, compliance without costly on-site infrastructure and for Trusts, Trust-wide visibility and management from one central place.

ISPA Chair Steve Leighton said:

“This year’s winners exemplify the innovation and dedication shaping the UK’s digital future.”

David Tindall, CEO of Talk Straight added:

“Safeguarding and security isn’t part of what we do - it is what we do. This award reflects the real impact our teams deliver for schools every day.”

This latest win reinforces Schools Broadband’s position as one of the UK’s most trusted education-sector ISPs.
