Events will be taking place in Ilkley as part of the national Heritage Open Days festival between 6 and 15 September.
Events across Ilkley include:
Saturday/Sunday 7/8 & 14/15 September 11am-4pm: Ilkley Manor House
Explore Ilkley's Roman history with family-friendly activities and tours. Create a paper Roman road to take home, transform into a centurion with dress-up fun, and design a Roman shield. Join expert John Cockshott on walks around the Roman fort
Thursday 12 September 2pm: Ilkley Blue Plaques Guide Launch & Walk
At Ilkley Railway Station, Ilkley Civic Society is launching a Guide to Ilkley’s Blue Plaques at 2pm. The Guide includes a map for self-guiding. The launch will be followed by a 90 minute walk to see some of the Blue Plaques. Registration for the walk is via localhistory@civicsociety.ilkley.org The Guide will be available afterwards at the Visitor Information Centre, Ilkley Library, Ilkley Manor House and some shops.
