A brewery will be able to retain its Ilkley brew house after a retrospective application for the venue was approved.
Bini Brew Co converted a commercial unit at Drill Hall Business Park in the town into a bar late last year.
But earlier this year Bradford Council deemed the use as a bar was unauthorised, as the unit was designated under planning rules as a commercial or business use.
The authority advised the Leeds-based brewery that it would need to apply to change the use of the unit if it wanted to continue running.
A retrospective planning application was then submitted, calling for the change of use of the ground floor into a bar, and the first floor into office space.
This was approved earlier this month.
41 people had written in support of the plans, claiming the business attracts people to the town and was a “well run business.”
Planning officers said: “Given the level of support for the proposal, it is clear that this use is of benefit to the local community. The office use above would also allow further employment opportunities and as a whole this proposal would help ensure the continued use and occupation of the building.”
