BusinessWaste.co.uk has announced its club partner status with the Lexus Ilkley Open 2025 helping the tournament serve up sustainability.
The waste collection company is working with the organisers, which will see new recyclable cups available for the first time, helping to sort the recycling of the cups and provide waste collections for the event.
30,000 recyclable cups are being made for the event, which will help to reduce the waste produced.
Often touted as the ‘Wimbledon of the North’, the Lexus Ilkley Open runs from 8th to the 15th June at Ilkley Lawn Tennis and Squash Club [ILTSC]. Off the court entertainment includes ‘Beyond the Baseline’ hosting multiple music acts, including Scouting for Girls on Friday 6th June.
In addition, ILTSC will hold a free Family Fun Day with junior and adult coaching clinics, live music, street food and more on Saturday 7th June between 11am and 4pm.
Mark Hall, co-founder of BusinessWaste.co.uk, comments:
“We’re delighted to be working with such a prestigious event. The Lexus Ilkley Open is one of the biggest tennis events outside of Wimbledon and brings world-class tennis to the north of England.
“As an Ilkley local myself, I’m proud to support such an important sporting event in our region. The event should draw a huge crowd and as such, the ability to help with the provision of recyclable cups will have a big impact on reducing waste for the event.
“We’re keen to always direct as much waste away from landfill, so helping to arrange the waste collection for Lexus Ilkley Open is a great way to showcase how to keep large events sustainable.”
